They were like most couples.

They beamed at each other and said the right things in public. They tried to look the picture of happiness. Because of some vague fear of society.

When alone, they often became adversaries. Without really realising it. They tried to get their unresolved needs from childhood met from each other. Without knowing what they really wanted. But wanting it nonetheless.

They maintained a safe intimate distance from each other.

At times, they could not stand each other. But at the same time, they would not leave each other. They never dwelt into why they were together. Because of some vague fear of society.
