He followed all the prescribed and proscribed diktats of his religion. He felt he was nearer to God.
She went against all that she was supposed to do as per her religion. She felt that following rituals was not a way to be nearer to God.
God was not bothered.
He believed that people who suffered did because of their past deeds. He did not want to be in the cycle of karma. He wanted ‘moksh’. He wanted to acquire as less karma as possible.
She helped the underprivileged. She saw suffering and she reached out naturally. Secretly, she thought, pleased with herself, that this would please God.
God was not bothered.
They both were Gods experiencing different spectrums of being. They did not know it.
God did.
Wonderful post. Both going for extremes, if I may put it that way. I call it extremes because most of humanity seems to be in between in different shades.

Now there you are. Well, I am of the belief that many of the prescribed diktats of religion are made to instill fear in the minds of humans. And fear of whom? God?
I believe in Karma though. Whatever good or bad goes around comes around.
Actually we get screwed up in life due to our bad karma. And as you have said previously, God only watches…..
I have started to believe that worshipping ones own work takes you ahead in life and to great heights and not sitting and praying God for hours every day.
