It was the 25th school reunion.

Most had not met each other since SSC. Many came to show how well they had done. Few came to show that they had not done badly. Some did not come.

After the initial apprehensions, they settled down with each other.

They started meeting frequently. And bantered daily on WhatsApp.

Most were not what they were 25 years back. They had seen the world. They had experienced heartbreaks, betrayals, bitterness and disillusionment.

They should have been like strangers to each others. Instead, they felt a rare degree of comfort with each other.

They had known each other as kids. Beneath their later acquired sophistication, they were all still the same. They felt safe with each other.

They had not talked so much during their school days as much as they interacted now.

Now they sought each other.
